Abstract

This study examines the implementation of collection development at the University of Lampung Library based on Edward G. Evans's six stages: user needs analysis, collection development policy, selection, acquisition, weeding, and evaluation. The study employs a qualitative method with a descriptive approach, utilizing observation, interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed through reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing, and validated using technique triangulation. The results indicate that collection development is conducted in a systematic, planned, and sustainable manner. Needs analysis is carried out through surveys, user suggestions, and the identification of users' information needs. The collection development policy serves as a guideline for implementation. The selection and acquisition of library materials are based on academic requirements and budget availability. Collection weeding is performed to maintain the relevance and currency of the collection, while collection evaluation is conducted to assess the extent of collection usage by patrons.
